'Health' Finds Itself a Place in Literature World

Süveyda Ölüdeniz ranked as first with her very interesting and deep story called Kanatılmış Sözcükler (Bleeding Words).
The jury evaluating the stories included the author Mario Levi, Deniz Yüce Başarır, the General Coordinator of Doğan Kitap, İpek Altıner, the General Coordinator of Tiyatro Kedi, Assoc. Dr. Haldun Soygür, the President of the Federation of Schizophrenia Associations and Dr. Erhan Baş, the General Manager of Bilim İlaç.
Organized in order to attract attention to schizophrenia in a country with 700,000 schizophrenia patients with likelihood to be contracted by one out of hundred people in Turkey, "Ateşin Düştüğü Yerden; Sesler, Yüzler, Öyküler" (Voices, Faces, Stories from the Place the Fire Falls) contest was finalized.
Project aims for showing what schizophrenia patients can do if they are ever given the opportunity as well as for attracting attention to schizophrenia. The project organized for the 2nd time continues since 2008 by the Federation of Schizophrenia Associations struggling for elimination of expulsion of schizophrenia patients and Bilim İlaç.
A 'New' Literature is Born
No age and story limit is set in this contest where only schizophrenia patients can participate. The contest welcomed 95 stories this year for evaluation by the members of jury in terms of fiction, language and power of expression. Süveyda Ölüdeniz ranked 1st in the contest with her story called Kanatılmış Sözcükler Kitabı (Book of Bleeding Words), Yasemin Şenyurt 2nd with her story called Çöpçüler (Garbagemen) and Mehmet Görkem Özkese 3rd with his story called Yalnızlığın Getirdileri (What Loneliness Brings). While the participants could not hide their excitement while receiving their plaques in the award ceremony, Mario Levi underlined the fact that a new literature is born.
'There will be no literature where there is no pain'
Stating that there will be no literature where there is no pain, Mario Levi told that the schizophrenia patients live exactly in the middle of pain and this has a very important power in terms of creativeness. Levi told Süveyda Ölüdeniz "I will be after you and wait for your book" while giving her plaque.
Moreover, Yılmaz Erdoğan who unfortunately could not attend the press conference referred to the 1st rank story as "a MANIFEST that extends beyond the borders of stories".
First contest organization in 2009
Top 10 stories evaluated by the jury will be compiled in a book and offered to the readers.
The top three winners of the contest were entitled to prize money and one-season training from Mario Levi Authoring Workshop. Assoc. Prof. Haldun Soygür stated that this kind of workshop activities is a good opportunity for patients to express themselves and helps improve their capabilities.
Dr. Erhan Baş, the General Manager of Bilim İlaç, underlined the importance of supporting this kind of projects and told that the project will become a tradition and their support will continue in future years. Baş also told that this kind of projects open new fields ahead.
First contest organization in 2009
The top 9 stories in the first contest organized last year were compiled in a book called "Hayat Bana Yüreğini Açıyor" (Life Opens Its Heart to Me) by Doğan Kitap. The top three winners of the previous year also got the chance to attend Mario Levi Authoring workshops for a full season and to improve their knowledge.

Çerkezköy Industrial Audits Have Completed Successfully
Consequent Integrated Management Systems (ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management Systems; ISO 14001:2004 Environment Management Systems; OHSAS 18001:2007 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems) audit, performed by SGS at our Çerkezköy enterprise between 14th and 15th of September has been completed successfully.
During the closing meeting, auditors have shared their findings verbally and stated that they are going to send a more detailed report they are going to prepare later. SGS evaluators told that they haven't encountered any critical or major deficiencies.
Bilim Pharmaceuticals Social Volunteers are Heading to Brussels After Taking Grand-prix
"Bilim Pharmaceuticals Social Volunteers Platform" took the grand-prix at "Turkey's Corporate Social Responsibility Solutions Marketplace" organized for the first time by Turkey's Corporate Social Responsibility Association (KSSD). We are going to represent Turkey next year in Brussels at international arena.
We have earned the right to participate in "CSR Marketplace" that is going to take place next year in October in Brussels hosted by CSR Europe with "Bilim Pharmaceuticals Social Volunteers Platform", which we have developed in the scope of our works with the aim of raising people's happiness and life quality.
20 Teams of Bilim Pharmaceuticals Social Volunteers Work In 11 Regions Across Country
Bilim Pharmaceuticals Social Volunteers is a platform, created with the help of Bilim Pharmaceuticals, that is comprised of volunteer contributors who organize events like "To be a part of the solution", and share their intellectual capital, time, labor and experience with people who need it. As of 2009 it has 580 active members who work in 20 different teams in 11 regions across Turkey.
Our General Director Mr Erhan Baş has told the following after the award ceremony:
"Since its inception, Bilim Pharmaceuticals Social Volunteers Platform has reached 9 000 children by realizing 91 activities in the scope of 7 projects. Our aim is to be a part of the solution by spreading social responsibility awareness and actualizing sustainable projects."
International Markets Were in Madrid for CPhI Event
International Pharmaceuticals Exhibition 2009, which brought together leading pharmaceutical industry's organizations like international pharmaceutical companies, raw material producers, drug suppliers and consulting companies, took place between 12th and 15th of October in Madrid.
Bilim Pharmaceuticals’, attending this event with its own stand for the 10th time, goal was to strengthen its relationships with international pharmaceutical companies/suppliers and producers and to increase its international presence. More than 20 000 visitors and 1 500 companies from 125 countries participate in this event which is organized each year in a different European city.

Bilim Pharmaceuticals Receives One More International Quality Accreditation
BILIM Pharmaceuticals is glad to announce receiving one more international quality accreditation for their manufacturing facility at Gebze, Kocaeli-Turkey.
On 22nd May, the said facility received the official GMP approval from the Regulatory Authority of UK (MHRA), which is full member of the council of European Union.
The MHRA inspectors audited the facility in March 2009 and certified that the operations in BILIM’s Gebze production facility are in general compliance with the principles and guidelines of good manufacturing practices as laid down in EU Commission Directive 2003/94/EC.
National Quality Grand Award Goes to Bilim Pharmaceuticals
Bilim Pharmaceuticals has won the National Quality Grand Award in the category of Big Enterprises, which has not been won for the last 4 years.
At the National Quality Awards, organised annually by the Quality Association of Turkey (KalDer) which is the branch of EFQM (European Foundation of Quality Management), Bilim Pharmaceuticals has won the National Quality Grand Award, in the category of Large Scale enterprises, after careful screening of candidates' performances based on EFQM Excellence Model.
Bilim Pharmaceuticals started its systematic approach to Total Quality Management in 1998 with Strategic Planning. Bilim Pharmaceuticals received the "Recognition of Excellence" certificate in 2004, the second one of EFQM Excellence Stages, showing that a company was being managed successfully and progressed at the path to become an excellent company.
CEO Erhan Baş emphasized that the success of the award belongs to the whole Bilim Pharmaceutical family with its employees and managers. He stated:
"We worked very hard to come to this point and we succeeded. We have taken our place among the firms with best practices of the Total Quality Management in Turkey. We have serious and challenging targets. We want to be among the front - runners of Europe in Total Quality management. BilimPharma.Com, the corporate web site of Bilim Pharmaceuticals,
created in collaboration with MagiClick Digital Solutions, received the
"Standard of Excellence" Award in the "Pharmaceuticals" category of
WebAwards 2006.
The "WebAward" hosted by the US Based Web Marketing Association (WMA) recognizes companies that possess the vision to transform their sites into powerful communication and business tools. The WMA was founded in 1997 to help set a high standard for Internet marketing and corporate Web development and is the producer of the WebAwards, an annual competition designed to judge corporate Web sites against an Internet standard and against peer sites within their industry. The WebAward competition draws over 2,500 entries from over 20 countries.
Judges from leading agencies choose winning sites based on seven criteria: design, innovation, content, technology, interactivity, navigation and ease of use. Judges complimented the Bilim Pharmaceuticals web site on its "creative reflection of the corporate culture in its logo and flash banners, and the effective introduction of the production facilities."

Bilim Pharmaceuticals on the CPHI International Pharmaceuticals Exhibition
Bilim Pharmaceuticals participated in the CPHI International Pharmaceuticals Exhibition, held in Milano on October 03-05 2007 for the 8th time. The exhibition, participate by large multinational and international corporations and organized in a different city every year, will be held in Frankurt next year. Bilim Pharmaceuticals was one of the 1.500 participants of this year.
